Sandora King, 102, of Port Norris passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her daughters home in Vineland. Born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to the late Jordan Hopkins and Emily Norfleet Hopkins, she was the wife of the late Leo King. Sandora had been a resident of Port Norris since 1940 and prior to that she had lived in Delaware.

Before her retirement in 1983, Sandora had been employed at the Vineland Developmental Center for 17 years. She had been previously employed at Port Norris Oyster Co. and Suzzie Bell Canning Co. in Port Elizabeth. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Norris.

She is survived by; four daughters, Hazel Kirby of Port Norris, Sara Jane Marshall of Vineland, Emma Louise Hackley of Paulsboro and Clara Elizabeth Harrell of Port Norris; her adopted daughter, Louise Hunter of Vineland; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Leo King; her brother, M. Lee Hopkins and two sisters, Viola Hopkins and Emily Mae Cox.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, July 6th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Due to current regulations associated with the Covid-19 healthcare situation, we are limited to 50 people within the funeral home at a time and the understanding and cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated.
