William P. Riggin "Sheriff Bill"
"Sheriff Bill" was the grandson of Port Norris Legend Levi Lore, and father of Legend William Riggin. He was born ????. , one of six children of oysterman Lewis H. Riggin and Mary Lore.
On ????he married Mary Hinson, with whom he had two children, William H. and Jean.
He was Sheriff of Cumberland County from 1936-39, 1948-51, and 1954-66.
On November 21, 2010, Sheriff Bill was recognized as a Legend of Port Norris.
